The lazy girl’s guide to getting fit

17 January 2014

The number one New Year’s resolution for 2014 was to lose weight. Fact. After the indulgence of the Christmas period, January is the perfect opportunity to start afresh and get back to your healthiest you. However, if you’re one to throw the towel in after just one week (don’t worry you’re not alone, 75% of us do!) then you’ve come to the right place! We’ve pulled together our top tips and tricks on how to stay fit and healthy without driving yourself insane, plus you can do it all in style with our great range of workout wear from Branded Ego

Start small

If you set yourself unrealistic goals (granted, we’d all like to look like Victoria Secret models come summer) then you’re less likely to stick to them, long term. Set yourself small targets such as attempting to walk more instead of taking the bus. This way staying active isn’t such a challenge.

Buddy up

Grab your best mate and head to the gym or go for a run with her. You’ll be much more motivated to work hard and it may even bring out a competitive streak in you! Added bonus? You’ll get a good gossip in while you’re doing it so it won’t even feel like exercise!

Meet your new best friend, water. One of the simplest ways to stay healthy is to just drink water frequently throughout the day, yet so many of us forget! Drinking water will keep you hydrated throughout the day which means great things for your skin and hair, plus if you’re trying to get into shape, drinking water will help to keep you feeling full between meals.

Dress to impress

Struggling to find motivation? Invest in some new work out gear to get you started! This way you’ll actually want to get yourself to the gym to show off your super cute yoga shorts. We love Branded Ego’s range of fitness clothing, make a statement in brightly coloured razor back vests, ‘Expect the Unexpected’ crop tops and fitted capris. Sports Luxe is so hot for SS14!

Make it fun

Most importantly, remember to have fun! We know it’s a cliché, but if you enjoy something you’re much more likely to stick to it. Whether you attend Zumba classes or join a running club, make sure you enjoy it to insure long term success!
