Stylistpick on… The EMAs.

14 November 2013

This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (better known as The EMAs) held in Amsterdam saw Katy Perry take Best Female Artist, the One Direction boys walked away with Best Pop Act and Miley Cyrus won Best Video for her song Wrecking Ball. But what we are really interested in is who was the best dressed of the evening? The girls at Stylistpick HQ spent the morning sorting the weird from the wonderful and have come up with our top five best and worst EMA looks.

Cher Lloyd

To kick off our best and worst countdown Cher Lloyd’s Gatsby inspired dress gets a massive tick of approval from us and just in time for the release of the film on DVD this week. with these, too.

Laura Whitmore

We love presenter Laura Whitmore’s structured white mini dress! Complete with strappy heels, Whitmore brings an edgy yet girly feel to the red carpet.

Louise Roe

Our very own stylist Louise Roe hosted the MTV red carpet coverage on Sunday and of course made a huge style statement in a brightly coloured strapless midi dress.

Katy Perry

We just can’t get enough of Katy Perry’s bang on trend ladylike look. Perry rocked old school glam with an uber feminine silhouette and paired with a matching red lip and nails.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora proved once again that you can go for a simple, understated look and still look super sophisticated. A floor length black gown is a red carpet favourite; add a side split to reveal a touch of leg for a revamp on a classic.

Ellie Goulding

The Stylistpick team were divided on Ellie’s outfit. While she hits the nail on the head with black lace, a must have trend this party season, we’re not too sure on having your intimates on show, especially with the world watching.

Iggy Azalea

Poor Iggy Azalea, the Aussie singer’s wardrobe malfunction was the talk of the awards. While a bit of flesh on show can be sexy, there is such a thing as too much skin. However, we can’t help but wonder whether Iggy just about rocks it?

Eva Simons

Dutch singer and songwriter Eva Simons looked more Cruella Deville than monochrome chic at the award ceremony. We want to like it, we really do…

We can always rely on the kings of cringe, Jedward, to make us giggle. The pair opted for matching white blazers decorated with different European flags and paired with metallic kicks to finish the look. We’re not too sure on this one, but thumbs up for creativity boys!

Miley Cyrus

Do we even need to explain why Miss Miley is our number one worst dressed at the EMAs? The star bared all in a halter neck mini dress, complete with the faces of rappers Tupac and Biggie Smalls printed on her stomach and behind.  But as an attention grabber certainly a success.
