This season we’re all for adding a pop of colour into our AW wardrobes and blue is just the colour to do that. From runway to the red carpet, hints of the shade are everywhere and the deeper the better. This trend is super easy to transfer to your everyday look, opt for bright oversized coats and boldly coloured skinny jeans for a new twist on the winter blues.
DKNY led the way at New York fashion week featuring a full cobalt blue trouser suit paired with bright orange suede boot heels, a killer combo. A similar look was seen on Valentino’s runway with a stunning strapless jumpsuit complete with matching clutch and pumps. Other designers such as Chanel teased with smaller injections of colour. We love the fluffy trapper hats featured on a number of the models imitating hair, a fun take on the trend.
The colour has rubbed off on a whole host of celebs who have been spotted not only on the red carpet, but on the streets too, proving the versatility of the trend. Fearne Cotton is a fan of royal blue outerwear while Girls star Zosia Mamet sports a similar shade in the form of a silk blouse. Zoe Hardman’s tailored blazer is the perfect finishing touch to an ultra-chic monochrome outfit and model Coco Rocha’s navy blue cut out dress creates a sophisticated and mysterious look, perfect for any important events and occasions.
Smash two key AW13 trends at the same time by wearing this leather luxe skater skirt from Goldie with Alice&You’s open front blazer in the perfect primary blue. Add a pair of pretty ballet pumps for a ladylike finish such as the Sandy Ballerina by London Rebel and have yourself the perfect new addition to your work wear wardrobe.
We adore Alice&You’s midi animal print tube skirt, perfect for a girl’s night out! Tuck this embellished vest from Goldie into the skirt and thrown on a pair of sky high boots such as the Windy Wedge and an oversized clutch bag.
These soldier biker boots by London Rebel are a great way to add a touch of punk to a bodycon dress for a laidback look. True Decadence’s navy midi dress is the perfect staple and can either be dressed up or down depending on your mood and occasion.
