COURT SHOES

The Stylistpick guide to court shoes

The Duchess of Cambridge has helped give the court shoe a new lease of life. Practical, chic and easy to walk in, it's the perfect ladylike shoe, which gives a little height, and stability (handy when one has to navigate those pesky cobblestones). If you want something a little bit more fashion forward, go for a platform court, or one with perspex detailing. It's a style that's here to stay so have fun with it!

HOW TO WEAR
COURT SHOES

If you thought court shoes were boring, think again. At the Spring/Summer shows, Marni not only sent their models down the catwalks in neat, classic courts, but in nude pop socks too. And guess what? It looked cool.

Known as 'pumps' in the US, courts have a low cut front and a closed toe. The heel height can either be low, mid or high with blocked, wedged or stiletto heel.

Work ladylike chic mixed with Mad Men-esque sass, and wear with a pencil cut skirt and form-fitting top.
